The 'kompang' is a hand held drum made from goat's skin . It is played using the palm and fingers. Taking cue from the kompang group leader the kompang boys sing songs of salutations to the Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Unto Him) seen here at a wedding function in Kuching City.
